Energy Report
URJA 2007-2008

Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank Ltd.. Popularly known as Sewa Bank is a Microfinance Bank providing banking services to poor self employed women. Main objective of the bank is to help women to come out of the vicious cycle of poverty and build their Capital, assets and businesses.

We have learnt from our past experience of last three decades that credit given for building basic infrastructure facilities like water connections, building drainage facilities, taking electric connections helps them to improve their living conditions, increase their income and productivity and reduce their drudgery, and save expenses.

Based on this experience Sewa Bank has designed a special "energy loan product" for different types of uses. This energy products include different types of cooking systems, home lighting fan and lanterns for businesses. These products are Solar products as well as conventional products.

We are liking with outside innovators to design energy products which are suitable, and affordable to our members. We are also looking for partnerships with other innovators to help our members.

We are looking forward to a bright future where all our existing members as well as new members make use of energy technology & improve their lives.

It is my pleasure to present our experience of providing energy credit to poor self employed women in the form a booklet.
